The Codex

Lu-Nanna

The steadiest hand that ever taught in the Eanna's house of tablets, and the one a frightened copyist runs to when there is nowhere else to run.

Standing
Ours outright. No ancient source names them.
Where you meet them
Early in Season One, once the scriptorium stops being safe.

In the chronicle

What this story does with them, said only as far as it can be said.

An ummia, a master scribe of Eanna and a keeper of the oldest signs, who helped bury the thing his student is now carrying. He wants her far away from it, which makes him the rarest kind of mentor: one whose advice is to stop.

The honest part

Invented. The office is not — an ummia ran the house of tablets, and the training, the copying and the discipline of signs are as the scribal record describes them.

The rest of the cast

Everyone else a visitor is allowed to meet before they play.

Meet them where they stand

A card is a name and a face. The story is the part where they want something from you.
