The last king of the Third Dynasty of Ur, under whom the last great Sumerian-speaking state fell to Elam and its allies around 2004 BCE.

What they did

presided over a collapse he could not stop; his letters and the failing grain accounts of his final years survive, which makes his reign one of the best documented failures in the ancient world. The fall is mourned in the Lament for Ur.
