Shulgi
Ur-Nammu's son, who ruled for around forty-eight years and built the bureaucracy whose clay archives are the richest record any Mesopotamian period has left.

What they did
standardised weights, measures and the calendar; reorganised the state's accounting so thoroughly that tens of thousands of administrative tablets survive from his reign and the reigns after it; had hymns composed in his own praise, several of which survive.
